Wisdom International Education Group and the Standardization of Montessori Education in China: For Better Education 2015-11-08
Setting out in the year of 1990, Wisdom International Education Group (WIEG) has been providing Montessori Education for 25 years. From the International Montessori School of Beijing (MSB), to International Montessori Teaching Institute (IMTI) and Jiade Montessori Bilingual Kindergarten (JDM), the branch agencies under the umbrella of WIEG grew vigorously yet with no intention of expansion, for every one of us in Wisdom is driven by the same motivation: to provide a better education.
In February 2014, WIEG’s old friend Dr. Joyce Pickering, President of the American Montessori Society (AMS) Board of Directors, was invited by us to Beijing, visiting our schools and giving inspiring talks to the faculty and staff. Meanwhile, introduced by Chairlady of WIEG, Shirley Wu, Dr. Pickering met and talked with Mr. Nianlu Yang, General Secretary of the Chinese Society of Education (CSE), thus unveiling the cooperation between CSE and AMS in the standardization of Chinese Montessori Education.
In July 2014, Mr. Yang, General Secretary of the Chinese Society of Education, and related personnel visited the head quarter of AMS in New York City, US. After an 8-hour conversation, the two parties entered into the agreement on the intention and the main content of cooperation.
April 2015, Mr. Richard Ungerer, AMS Executive Director, came to Beijing to sign the Consultation Service Agreement of the Chinese Montessori Early Childhood School Accreditation Standards. Mr. Bungling Zhong, President of CSE was present at the signing ceremony and gave a talk on the implementation of the cooperation project.
Hereafter, the experts of two teams jointly contributed great effort to the challenging work of developing the Standards and finished the work within 6 months, throughout which translation for both expert teams, related information and technique support in video conferences were provided by WIEG, of which the dedication of supporting was well received by both CSE and AMS experts.
November 2015, the International Symposium on “Montessori Education in China”, hosted by CSE and undertaken by WEIG, was successfully held in Qingdao, China. The conference was highly praised by the guests and participants, looking forward to the succeeding process of the standardization of Chinese Montessori education.
Serving as a supporting agency of 21 months, WIEG made irreplaceable contribution in the implementation of the project by connecting the two excellent teams from China and America together, continuously assisting in the communication and generously proposing constructive ideas from our years of experience in education.
The progress of the standardization of Montessori education in China is surely a challenging and lasting process. Wisdom International Education Group hereby with the branch agencies, the international school, the bilingual kindergartens and the teacher education institute, sincerely hopes that, in the near future, a “better education”can be provided to more children and families, as well as more teachers and schools.
Jiade Montessori Bilingual Kindergarten in Chaoyang District has become an Experimental Kindergarten of the Chinese Society of Education
Recently, the Chinese Society of Education and Jiade Montessori Bilingual Kindergarten in Chaoyang District, Beijing, through friendly conversations, formally signed an agreement that Jiade Montessori Bilingual Kindergarten would become an Experimental Kindergarten of the Chinese Society of.Education. Both sides are going to carry out "child-centered" experimental research projects, exploring the theories and solutions for children’s learning and development, combining the national “Learning & Development Guide for 3-6 year olds” and the standard curriculum of the American Montessori Society (AMS), to promote early childhood comprehensive and coordinated development, and to lay good quality-based early childhood education theories and methods for young children's subsequent learning and lifelong development in the multicultural context of innovative educational philosophy.
In addition, the Chinese Society of Education and the International Montessori Teaching Institute (IMTI), authorized by with the American Montessori Society (AMS), entered into a strategic cooperation intention. Both parties will carry out the pre-school education and teacher training cooperation and promote the internationalization of Chinese infants and early childhood education.
